Take a kid fishing, make their day

Idaho Fish and Game is hosting a “Take Me Fishing” trailer event for kids to help them get excited about fishing and to help build a new generation of anglers. These trailer events will soon make appearances at fishing holes across the state. Wrapped with vibrant fish illustrations, the trailers are stocked with fishing information and basic fishing equipment that can be checked out for free on a first-come, first-serve basis. Fish and Game staff will be available to answer questions and help those new to the sport. If you sign up at the trailer, whether the a resident or not, you can fish without a license during the hours of the events. All other rules such as size limits and daily bag limits apply. Idaho children 13 years old and under can always fish for free. These events give any angler, youth or adult, the opportunity to try fishing without first buying a license or investing in equipment. The trailer will be at Edson Fichter Pond in Pocatello on May 25 and 30. It will also be in locations in Idaho Falls and Blackfoot.
