Francisca Ramirez de Castillo

October 4, 1948 – December 24, 2015

Francisca Ramirez de Castillo, 67, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Thursday, Dec. 24, 2015 in American Falls. She was born on Oct. 4, 1948 to Sotero and Francisca Ramirez in Coahuila, Mexico.

Francisca was known by many as, “Panchita” and/or “Paquita.” The nickname “Paquita” came from a Mexican artist, Paquita la del Barrio, who, in looks, she resembled very much.

On Sept. 16, 1965 she married the love of her life, Jesus Castillo. They celebrated their 50th anniversary, this last fall. Together they have six children: Jesus (Maria) Castillo, Raul Castillo, Alma (Jose) Garcia, Claudia (Adrian) Carrillo, Imelda (Marco) Torres, and Rosie (Juan) Huerta; as well as 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Christina, Julia, Joey, Emilio, Rudy, Gina, Delia, Jesus, and Jacob; and seven great-grandchildren, Raul, Lina, Zulema, Jasmine, Mireya, Valeria, and Zoey.

Francisca was a hard working mother. She retired from Driscoll Potatoes after serving 20+ years. Her hobbies were gardening, singing and dancing (she loved to dance). Her proudest possession was her family. She loved her family very much. Her family will always miss getting together at “Big Momma’s House” for an all day Sunday feast. No one ever left hungry and everyone was always welcome.

Francisca was passionate about her faith in Christ. She recognized Christ as her Savior and always spoke to her family about God. She invited anyone to speak the word of God to her. Her favorite song was, “Cien Ovejas.” She will be reunited with her mother and father in heaven, as well as other close family members and friends who have passed.

Her family invited everyone to join them for services, honoring her life here on Earth and celebrate her new life in heaven. Viewing was held on Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 6 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in American Falls, with a rosary following at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. with a viewing at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Falls View Cemetery in American Falls. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
