RAFT RIVER – Donna Harriet Stout Call, 93, of Raft River, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, at the Edgewood Spring Creek Manor in American Falls.
Donna was born the sixth of eight children to Jay Golden and Sarah Evelyn Stout, Jan. 12, 1923, in Burley, ID, where she lived for 82 years. She then moved to the Raft River area where much of her family resides.
She grew up in The Great Depression years, and thus had great appreciation and gratitude for everything. They didn’t have electricity for most of her childhood. Call on June 12, 1941, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Feb. 8, 1994 at their home in Burley.
The most important things in her life were the gospel of Jesus Christ, and being a good wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved being a homemaker.
She served faithfully in all the organizations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; in presidencies and as a teacher. She served an LDS mission with her husband in the Cardston Alberta Temple Visitors Center; six years at the Boise Idaho Temple, and several stake missions.
She is survived by six children, Lynn W. Call (Saundra) of Ogden, UT; Kenneth S. Call (Marilyn) of Orem, UT; Janice Call Baker Barnes (John) of Spanish Fork, UT; Milo J. Call (Susan), M. Evan Call (Kelley), and Richard L. Call (Melanie) from the Raft River area; 28 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Leon Stout (Carol) of Burley.
She was preceded in death by three brothers; three sisters; a son-in-law; and a daughter-in-law.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Raft River LDS Church, 2551 E. 300 S., Declo. Bishop Mike Garner officiated. Burial followed in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.
Friends called from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
