Virginia Belle Gehring

1936 – 2016
Virginia Belle Gehring, 79, of Nampa, Idaho passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Streamside Assisted Living Memory Care in Nampa.
Virginia was born May 8, 1936, in Aberdeen, Bingham County, Idaho – the daughter of John Miser and Neva Henderson. She was reared and educated in American Falls where she graduated from high school in 1954. It was there that she met the love of her life, Rueben Jacob Gehring. They were married at the American Falls United Methodist Church on Aug. 22, 1954 and they were blessed with four children, Sheila Dawn, Rueben Kiel, Shane John and Clay Jacob.
Rueben and Virginia worked side by side together for many years toward their dream of someday owning their own farm. This dream was cut short when Rueben became ill and he died way too young at the age of 47, Jan. 17, 1983.
After many years she met Ivan Arnold to whom she was married for several years. They remained life partners up until her death.
Virginia’s last job was working at her craft business “Ginny’s Country Treasures”. She was a gifted artist and crafter and could sew, crochet, knit, paint and create numerous treasures that many in the family will carry with them forever. She also enjoyed reading, was a master gardener and especially loved caring for the many pets that she had throughout the years from her horses, cows, geese, chickens, ducks, rabbits, pigs and many dogs. They were all extended members of the family.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nampa.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Mike) of Menomonie, Wisconsin and three sons, Rueben Kiel, Shane (Denise), and Clay (Debbie) all of Nampa, Idaho; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters in law, Elfrieda Chaffin of Chubbuck, Idaho and Barbara Gehring, Pocatello, Idaho and one brother in law, Kenneth (Nancy) of Syracuse, Utah, many nieces and nephews and life partner, Ivan Arnold.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben; father, John; mother Neva; sister, Audrey; and brother, Alden Dile; sisters in law, Gertrude Hulet and Delores Daniels; and brother in law Ronald Gehring; grandchild Kylea Gehring; and great grandchildren, Tessa Armknecht and Jacob Hickerson.
The Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 21, at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Avenue South, Nampa, Idaho 83651 with a reception after at the Columbia Center, 2900 East Railroad, Nampa, Idaho 83687.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Idaho 83211 officiated by Pastor Jon Beake of St. John’s Lutheran Church with lunch to follow at the church.
