Melanie Perez

Melanie Sarai Perez, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 in Pocatello, ID, surrounded by her family. She had a long battle of health issues. She resided in Nampa, ID, so she could be close to her children and grandchildren. She was 53 years old.

She was born in Twin Falls, ID, on July 21, 1962 to Burva Jean Stombaugh and Loren Delbert Stratton. She was raised by her mother and step-father James Burcham in American Falls, ID. She attended the American Falls High School and obtained her G.E.D. in 2004. Melanie worked as a waitress for different companies around the area.

Melanie had seven children and seven grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and avidly spent her last years attempting to make blankets for all of them. Melanie also enjoyed crafting, playing solitaire, computer games, and watching nature. Most of all she loved being outside in the sun. On a warm sunny day she could be found sitting on the front porch basking in the sun’s rays.

Melanie is survived by her parents, Burva and James Burcham, of American Falls; her daughters, Melissa Perez, Caldwell, ID, Jael Perez, Nampa, ID, Nakia Perez, Washington, Noella Perez, Washington; and her sons, Chevas Anderson, Nampa, Fransisco Acuna, Pocatello, ID; her seven grandchildren Cruz, Eliah, Jae’dyn, Amiah, Shaden, Aleah, and Lily; as well as her brother, Jerry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Lucas; her two sisters, Marilyn and Carol; and her husband, Jerry Perez.

“If it was not for me you would not be, and if it was not for you I would not want to be”. Our mother’s favorite saying to her children.

No public services will be held. The family will celebrate her life when they spread her ashes. Condolences may be sent to the family online at wilksfuneralhome.com.
