Marilyn H. Andersen, 84

Marilyn Herbert Andersen, 84, of Sterling, passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Sterling, ID.

She was born Jan. 21, 1933 in Clearfield, UT, to Theodore Herbert and Ruth Barlow. Marilyn has lived in Ely, NV, and Sterling, ID. She attended grade school in Sterling, then later graduated from Aberdeen High School.

On Dec. 30, 1952 she married Rowayne P. Andersen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.

Marilyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in numerous callings in the LDS Church for many years. She served LDS missions with her husband to: Cove Fort Mission, UT, from 1997 to 1999, Pocatello, ID, Mission in 2001 for 13 months and a Genealogy Mission in American Falls for 18 months. They worked at the Idaho Falls Temple for 12 years.

Marilyn worked as a lunch lady at Aberdeen School District for 19 years.

Her favorite job was raising five beautiful children. She is survived by: sons, Kent (Marlene) Andersen, of Idaho Falls, Glenn (Tami) Andersen, of Springfield, Ted (Jolene) Andersen, of Sterling; daughters, JuDean (Tony) Young, of Cheyenne WY, Julie (Edward) Henicksman, of Sterling; brother, Victor (Dalene) Herbert, of Pocatello; sisters, Pat Steed of Washington and Ruth Adams of Utah/Sterling; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her sweetheart, Rowayne Andersen; parents, Theodore and Ruth Herbert; brother, Duane Herbert; and granddaughter, Jennifer Young Trevino.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Lakeview Ward LDS Chapel under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home. The family met with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the Lakeview Ward LDS Church and again one hour prior to services. Interment was held in the Springfield Cemetery.
