Daniel Russell Stanger

Daniel Russell Stanger died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 in Dillon, MT. He was born in Pocatello, ID, on May 29, 1936. He was the second son of James Daniel Stanger and Ethel Irene Higgins.

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, his younger brother William Dee Stanger and his sister Della Frances Thornton. He is survived by his oldest brother George Rodney (Helen) Stanger, Darrell Thornton (brother-in law), Kathy Daniels (sister-in-law) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Russell served his country during three years in the United States Navy. Most of his working years were spent as a welder on the atomic submarines at the Bremerton Naval Station in Bremerton, WA. During his entire adult life, Russell had a wondrous and gentle love of the outdoors and animals, enjoying them with his many friends and relatives in Idaho and the Pacific Northwest.

The family extends our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Kevin Button and the staff at the Legacy Senior Living; your love and care of Russell will not be forgotten.

Leaving no spouse or children, Russell will be laid to rest in American Falls, ID, next to his mother.

Services for Russell will be held in the Relief Society room at the LDS Stake Center in American Falls, (111 Church Place, American Falls, ID 83211, 208-226-5514) on Friday, Jan. 24, at 3 p.m. Interment will follow immediately after the services at the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls.
