James Cobbley

James Cobbley, 97, of Pocatello passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 of natural causes at a local assisted living facility. He was born on Oct. 17, 1916 in Riverside, ID. He was the fifth of 11 children born to Elmer and Charlotte Cobbley.

Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the army during WWII in the Aleutian Islands and was there when the Japanese attacked Dutch Harbor in 1942.

He spent most of his life in Pocatello and American Falls, retiring from FMC in 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents; all his siblings; his wife, Zula; and two sons, Raymond Leonard and Lyman Kent; and one grandson. He is survived by one daughter, LaJoy (Garry); two sons, Jeff (Louise) and Rayo (Barbara); eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 18, with a viewing scheduled one hour prior to services at Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Road, Chubbuck, ID. Burial took place following the service at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Pocatello. Military Rites were provided by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
