Lynn V. Rowbury, 78

Lynn V. Rowbury, 78, of Aberdeen, passed away Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and daughters by his side.

Lynn was born December 23, 1935, in Osgood, Idaho, to Virgil Peter and Leah Hill Rowbury. He lived in Osgood with his family until he was 8 years old, at which time his family moved to the Lost River area. He then moved to the Aberdeen area for a short time. He moved with his family to Moses Lake, Washington, where he graduated from High School.

He married Dora Anne Westover on August 26, 1955, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They lived in Moses Lake, Washington, for a year and a half, then moved to Aberdeen in 1957.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has served in various callings including: Stake Missionary, Bishopric and High Priest Group Leader.

Lynn has been a farmer his entire life, working for T.S. Vanderford for 11 years and for Foster Farms for 44 years. Lynn loved farming and was a dedicated farmer his whole life.

He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dora; his children: Lynette (Craig) George of Blackfoot, Kent (Diane) Rowbury of Aberdeen, Kyle Rowbury of Idaho Falls, DeAnne (David) Voorhees of Santaquin, Utah, Alan (Mary) Rowbury of Herriman, Utah, and Charlotte Rowbury of Aberdeen; 24 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Funeral service were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at the Aberdeen Second Ward Chapel. The family met with friends and relatives from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the church and again for one hour prior to services. Arrangements were under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home.
