Barbara Newsom Stalker

Our loving wife, mother, sister and friend, Barbara Newsom Stalker, 69, passed away in her home with her family by her side, on Sunday, December 21st. Barbara was born February 4, 1945 in Pocatello, Idaho.

She has been happily married to Gary Stalker for 48 years. They have resided in American Falls their entire marriage. Barbara lived her life for her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.

She was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She worked at Lamb Weston, and was the Indian Coordinator for the American Falls School District and Fort Hall Indian Reservation.

Barbara had an amazingly positive spirit that impacted those she associated with.  She loved life and was a positive example for her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by those she left behind including her husband Gary Stalker, daughters Michelle (Kevin) Miller, and Toni (Rich) Llewellyn, step-daughters Sandra (Todd) Martin, and Patsy (Brad) Hoffer, 19 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, her brothers Clyde, Frank, Noah, and Bill Newsom, and sisters Beveleen May, and Joan McNabb.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Noah and Berchie Newsom, brothers Archie L. and D. (Tony) Newsom, and step-son Frankie Stalker.

A viewing will be held Friday, December 26, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Davis-Rose Mortuary, 170 Idaho St, American Falls. Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 am with a viewing prior to service from 10:00-10:45 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints American Falls 4th Ward Building, 650 Pocatello Avenue, American Falls. Internment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens, 2864 S. 4th Avenue, Pocatello.
