Charlotte Houghland Rosier

June 13, 1926 – August 21, 2015

Charlotte Joan Houghland Rosier, 89, beloved wife of Dr. Thomas R. Rosier, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 peacefully at their home in Yakima, Washington.
Charlotte was born June 13, 1926 in Pocatello, Idaho to Robert and Dorothy Porter Houghland. She was raised on their farm and ranch in Springfield, Idaho. Charlotte was very close to both of her parents. She attended Springfield and Aberdeen schools, graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1944. The Houghlands were active members of the United Methodist Church in Blackfoot.

Upon graduation from high school, Charlotte attended the University of Washington, majoring in music education. She was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. It was at the University where she met the love of her life, Tom Rosier. They were married in August of 1950.
Charlotte taught music in the Seattle public schools while Tom completed dental school at the University of Washington. They moved to Yakima, Washington in 1954 where Tom started his dental practice. Their daughter Kathryn was born in 1955. While raising a family, Charlotte and Tom were involved in many community and civic events. Charlotte enjoyed many activities with her friends, but her passions were cooking, needlework, and her granddaughters.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Thomas R. Rosier, Yakima, WA, daughter Kathryn (Paul) Magers of Los Angeles, grandchildren Emily Magers of Santa Clara, CA and Anna Magers of Culver City, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Robert Porter Houghland.

Charlotte is interred at Terrace Heights Memorial Park in Yakima, Washington.
