Marla Kay Schultz

Marla Kay Corbridge Schultz, 71, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, surrounded by her loving family following a short illness at Portneuf Medical Center.

Marla Kay was born June 6, 1944 to Lee Corbridge and Dorothy Hansen Corbridge. She was the fourth of nine children. She attended school in American Falls and graduated in 1962.

On Oct. 13, 1967 she married the love of her life, August “Junior” Schultz. They were blessed with five children: Debbie, Dave, Tena, Shannon and Desiree.

Marla Kay loved her family, gardening, making porcelain dolls, going for long drives in the mountains, watching wildlife, scrapbooking, tole painting, sewing, reading, and was very talented at interior decorating. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family and always cooking a fabulous meal.

Marla Kay is survived by her husband of 48 years, August “Junior” Schultz; her children, Debbie (Earl) Wallace, David (Pauline) Schultz, Tena (James) Sprague, Shannon Schultz, Desiree Saiz; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Virgil (Pat), Don, and Lee Corbridge; and one sister, Gayla Carlson; one great sister-in-law Sandy Corbridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Dorothy, and her siblings, Beverly, Sharon, Doralee, and Ron.

A viewing was held from 6 to 730 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Davis-Rose Mortuary. The funeral service was held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 111 Church Place, American Falls, with a viewing held prior to services from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.davisrosemortuary.com.
